Private function dining with a difference

Birthday parties, wedding or anniversaries, office get-togethers, Christmas, and more. There’s no reason to look any further than the Lobster Pod Bistro for your private function or corporate event.

Function Area

Our Cabin can fit 36 on bench-seating and another 8 on bar stools and armchairs, giving a total of 44 guests. We also have an area that you can hire containing 3 pods and 2 outside benches (enough for 28 people). This whole area can be marked off with signs for Private Hire. In total, this area will comfortably seat about 60 people.

To hire the area for your function, we require a minimum number of 20 people with a maximum of ideally 60 (although we can accommodate 70 if necessary). The function will be split between the Cabin and three pods.

Food and Drink

Please email the Lobster Pod bistro to discuss your food and drink arrangements with the chef and manager.

Drinks can be laid out on a table for your guests to help themselves with our staff around to assist as needed. Alternately, your guests can obtain and pay for their own drinks at the bar.

Among the drink available is a choice of wine from our wine list and we can supply Bright Beer from Salcombe Brewery if preordered (please enquire for the price). Juices and cordial jugs can be made available and we will supply tap water on the buffet.

Hire is only available when purchasing food from our function menu.

The Cabin can be hired for any time during normal opening hours.

A deposit of £200–£1,000 Is required depending on function size. The hire charge is waived during the winter (November to just before Easter). The Lobster Pod closes for maintenance in January and early February.

Please park in the public car park next to the Hope and Anchor: the Cottage Hotel car park is for Hotel guests only. If leaving the Lobster Pod late at night, please respect the residents of Hope Cove and keep noise to a minimum.
