The Lobster Pod is a unique, casual dining destination nestled in the heart of Hope Cove. Prepare to be captivated by the awe-inspiring views of the harbour and beach as you enjoy simple and tasty food. You can dine alfresco, within the iconic pods, or for larger groups within our rustic cabin with its bench seating and far reaching views. Come rain or shine, The Lobster Pod promises a relaxed and casual experience, offering tasty food, prepared and served simply, in a quirky and unique setting.

Like many in our industry, we have been facing significant staffing challenges and rising operating costs, and we have taken the considered decision to simplify our offering—allowing us to remain open and continue welcoming guests, rather than having to close for the season.

This year we are adopting a more relaxed and casual approach to dining. We are only accepting walk in’s (subject to space and table availability), just turn up and order. Your food is served with compostable plates and cutlery, so you can eat either eat with us or take away onto the beach (or back to your home if you prefer). You’ll be invited to find somewhere to sit, view a menu, order and pay at the counter and collect your food when it is prepared. For those who are less able, we will be sure to assist. Drinks are dispensed in compostable beakers.

We cannot accept any forward reservations, but we’ll be welcoming walk‑ins, subject to space and table availability, allowing guests to enjoy an informal and flexible bite to eat by the sea. Open Wednesday through Sunday, from 12.30pm until 3.30pm, and from 4.30pm with last orders at 7pm.

Due to the unique design, we regret that It is not possible to put high chairs in pods. You are welcome to bring your own baby booster seat.
